3 biggest learnings from our 24-hour growth challenge to 2x our user base

Two months ago we tried to double our user base from 400 to 800 in just 24 hours. While we didn't quite reach our target, we achieved the highest number of new users in a single day and eventually doubled our user base two weeks later.

Here are the 3 biggest learnings.

1. Consistency is key:

One of the most significant realizations during the challenge was the importance of consistent daily growth efforts. Achieving substantial growth in a short period is not only difficult but can also have a delayed impact. Focusing on consistent daily efforts can lead to a more reliable and sustainable growth pattern in the long run. We learned that spending just a few hours a day on growth can have a more significant impact than sporadic, high-intensity efforts.

2. The power of organic engagement:

During our challenge, we experimented with various strategies, including Google Ads, Reddit comments, and posts on different platforms like LinkedIn and Indie Hackers. We quickly discovered that organic engagement through comments and posts on relevant forums and communities generated more valuable traffic and sign-ups than paid ads. For example, we achieved 25 clicks from just one comment on Reddit, which was far more relevant and cost-effective than the 25 clicks generated from Google Ads.

3. Personalization and authenticity matter:

When posting on platforms like Reddit, Indie Hackers, and Product Hunt, we found that using personalized images and content that showcased our personality and the team behind the project resonated well with users. Sharing our journey and using relatable, fun images helped generate more interest and engagement than generic or promotional content.
