I'm currently building Opinix, a survey rewards platform.
We reached 14 users, but we've now had three consecutive days with zero new users.
Instead of simply increasing marketing, I looked at what was happening with the users we already had.
We found that our early users were being disqualified from the available third-party surveys.
That means the problem isn't just acquisition.
If people can't consistently complete surveys and earn, bringing in more users just fills a leaky bucket.
So I'm testing Opinix-owned surveys next.
The experiment is simple:
Third-party inventory → disqualification
vs.
Opinix-owned surveys → completion → reward → return usage
I'll share what happens.
I'd also love to hear from other founders: what was the first thing you changed when you realized your acquisition funnel was actually being affected by the product itself?
