Hey guys,
I have been working on our new website! Now I need your opinion to uncover possible weak points!
https://timebuzzer.com/
I am particularly interested in your opinion on these points:
- What do you think about our title, description and CTA?
- Where do you see our value proposition? Do you think we've communicated this properly?
- How is the overall look and feel?
Roast it 🔥🔥🔥
I know that in those times it has fallen out of fashion, but you may want check how your landing page looks in firefox, the first pic does not load and I cannot read the description as there is an overlaping text on it
Hmm weird I don’t have issues with Firefox. Which text is overlapping? 🤔
Thanks for your feedback!
now looks ok, probably it was on my end the problem
I think it overall looks good. I’d say that you should try and mention who is your audience somewhere at the top.
Also, I would simplify your pricing page bigly.
Thanks for your feedback! Good point! Will definitely add this information above the fold!
Ok, what do you think is to complicated with our pricing? What could we do better in your opinion? :)
I really like the homepage but I think the pricing section is WAY too busy. Sorry if I'm harsh with my comments but now at least you're getting an honest view.
-On 'Freelancer', you have the Software + Buzzer section stick out but you don't have it do that for any of the other user buckets. It's weird to me that its different.
-The actual text of each Div is all over the place - different colors and different sizes. This is one of the biggest weaknesses.
-The Enterprise option is really weak. You use grey and it's just really lame and not a lot of thought into the design.
-"Control the app with your keyboard." under freelancers - its not text that is getting me too excited
-The description of what you are getting is tiny and I don't get why you cross out the 1x Premium Hardware Buzzer - isn't it clear you don't get it from the text at the top of the div
I could probably keep going on but best thing to do is get a designer to just start from the beginning. I would go for ultimate simplicity and get more complicated from there. I'd also consider an option where you have a slider for number of users and that way you keep the 3 buckets consistent - only the pricing changes.
Also, a question for your Founders - why are there so many buckets to begin with? Just do Freelancers, 2-50, and 50+. Customers are negotiating anyway so why does it matter to have all those buckets?
Hi cyberbadger,
awesome feedback, thanks!
You've certainly made some good points. Especially the idea with the slider could make our pricing a lot easier, although we would probably need 2 sliders more, since teams can combine the packages.
(In teams it is often the case that not everyone needs a buzzer. So we have to keep that in mind.)
Since I am part of the founding team, I can answer your last question. The idea behind these buckets was to make it clear that our solution is also applicable for very large teams. And of course, to avoid too much negotiation.
I already spent much time with our pricing but know that its still not perfect. After your feedback I will definitely spent some more time to further improve it!
If you are interested I‘ll let you know!
Best Patrick
Sorry I wasn’t sure cause I think I saw somewhere you were brought on to do Marketing and I didn’t realize you were a Founder and I didn’t want to assume.
The two sliders is exactly an example of what I DON’T think you should do. If a team wants to combine buzzer and no buzzer, let them ask you that. Or they’ll figure out they can slide how many users they want without a buzzer and then do it again with a buzzer and just add it together.
Hey @cyberbadger
I have made some big changes. What do you think about it?

It looks a lot better. I like the simple aesthetic and Enterprise looked really drab and glad you got rid of that look. I do have a few thoughts but first a question:
Does someone NEED to purchase the hardware or do you have a software only option? How realistic is software only if that is the case?
I'm glad you like it better. :)
When I now look at our old pricing model, I fully agree with you!
Puh...thats a tricky one!
Since the desktop app can also be controlled with the arrow keys on your keyboard you don't NEED to have the hardware. But you will by far not experience the same excitement.
In the last pricing model we had we offered "software only" also for freelancers but there was no interest in that plan.
So I'd say "software only" for freelancers it's rather not realistic. (Atleast if the software is not free. We have quite a few people from the early days who are using just the software and never ordered a buzzer. But the reason for that is probably that the software was completly free for freelancers back then and they have been grandfathered until today.)
For teams "software only" is necessary because there are always people in a team who don't need a buzzer. (For example people who are often on the road. They just use the mobile and web app and are fine with that.) This has been confirmed again and again.
But at the beginning there are always atleast a few people in a team using the complete solution with the hardware. So you can say "software only" becomes relevant if a team already has satisfied buzzer users and they want to use the solution for the whole team/ department knowing already that not everyone needs a device because of the mentioned reasons.
FYI: We have an internal store where existing customers can buy more buzzers and add more users (also software only). It doesnt look like the pricing table on the website. More like a simple list of the products.
Uff... that was long..Sorry :D
Best
Patrick
Good to know and I love all the detail. You've really thought this through.
A few thoughts:
The individual path is self-service and I can see the total price in a nice, neat checkout page. But if I fill out the Team information, I can't see the total - you force me to submit information. Why not show the same 'checkout page' for the Team option and that way they can see total cost. If they want to contact you, they will.
Why is the Team option more expensive per month - are you delivering that much more value to the overall organization?
As a side note, how many users do you have that are freelancers and how many users do you have that are part of a 'team'?
Thank you for all your input. It helps me a lot!
My comments to your thoughts:
I came up with that idea because otherwise it can cause a bit of a mess in our backend. But you are probably right and we have to find a solution for our "backend problem".
Also a very tricky one.
From the feature perspective:
Yes there are features like member, role and rights management and team overviews which a freelancer doesn't need.
From the value perspective:
It's hard to say who has a higher value from our solution. You can argue in both ways.
What we do know is that freelancers are more price sensitive than teams. Freelancers pay the bill out of their own pockets, while for teams usually the company pays.
Maybe instead of saying that teams are more expensive we could communicate that the team pricing is standard and that we offer a more affordable plan for freelancers? What do you think of that?
One small change could be to just switch the order of the two plans. So putting the team plan first and the freelancer plan second. Regarding that freelancers are our main target group idk if that makes sense. I am interested in what you think about it!?
Site note)
Difinitely more freelancers. But we are currently working on a partnership that could provide us with many team users in future.
No worries. :)
I'll think about it and make some sketches!
I wouldn't switch them - I think it looks good now. Also, maybe if there's a way directly under the pricing part, to have the feature grid that is so common on pricing pages. You have it now, but it is not prominent as other sites. Just something to mess around with but I would definitely get advice from other people that are designers!
Yep true, the design of the feature grid is not very special. Will improve that soon. :)
I think it would be probably better if I mention every feature once on the left side and on the right side I just "tick" them. Thats how the saas sites are doing it.
Thanks again for your advice. :)
If I can help you with something let me know!
