While looking for potential prospects for my SaaS SEO agency, I reviewed the SEO strategy for 50+ SaaS websites in the last 72 hours.
I found that most first-time SaaS founders were making these 3 SEO mistakes that are hurting their SaaS growth:
Example:
Their goals are to increase sign-ups & paid customers
but,
they've created most content around top-of-funnel.
So they get plenty of new visitors.
but hardly any conversions.
Solution: If your goal is to attract more sign-ups and paid customers, prioritize bottom-of-funnel topics when building your content strategy.
Example:
I saw 80% of SaaS websites that had incredible content that could
– get more shares
– build more authority
– attract more links
But,
It's just lying dead on a page receiving no shares or links.
Solution: When building a content asset, always brainstorm different ways you can utilize it to either gain exposure, acquire more leads, attract more links or all of them.
This will improve ROI for your overall marketing spending.
Example:
All SaaS websites had high-authority links pointing to
– homepage
– launch page
from their ProductHunt launch.
However,
No one was using it to rank their money pages by interlinking.
Solution: When you acquire multiple links on a launch or home page – link out to money pages (pages you want to rank in Google) with variations of your target keyword.
This will pass link authority to money pages and you'll see significant improvement in rankings even if you don't make any new backlinks.
People say "SEO is dead".
The truth is: over 70% of SEO & content budget goes to waste.
You can be getting 100s of extra sign-ups every month.
But your blindness to SEO strategy is costing you 6+ figures in annual revenue.
Don't make these mistakes!!!
