Agreed on investing in your health. You won't always be able to do whatever you're doing at the moment if you don't take care of yourself.
About learning resources, as you say, you don't need (and maybe cannot) buy everything, so you have to target more specifically. My question here is: how do you know beforehand what particular resource is worth selecting for each field you want to get skills in?

It depends on where you are in your development career. But I've found great value in using Treehouse. It keeps me up to date with industry languages and adds new courses for me to try out for a reasonable price.

Meh, I find live events to be a huge time, money and energy suck.

Me too. I guess that if you can't start conversations with other people easily, all that's left are presentations that are better enjoyed when you watch at your own leisure.

A monitor and a keyboard are also solid investments. Anything that is expensive on paper, but you know you're going to use it on a daily basis will pay a lot of dividends long run.
