3 ways to Instantly Validate Your Product.

There is one simple way to know if people are (ACTUALLY) looking for your potential product or its features.

Go onto Ubersuggest (https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/) and do any one of the following:

(I'm going to use my tool https://www.spreadtech.online/ as an example)

  1. Type in the name/type of product you're making e.g "Content repurposing tool"

  2. Type in an agency alternative to your product e.g "Content repurposing agency service"

  3. Type in the features it will have have e.g "How to turn Youtube videos into podcasts"

You want to look at TRAFFIC and CLICKS for each of these searches. It doesn't matter what the search results actually are, you just need to see what the market is searching for and demanding!!!

That's literally it.

This I actually how I decided to create Spread.

There are no content repurposing tools/software out there, there are a few agencies out there that do it, and there are plenty of searches for Youtube transcript generator, or youtube to podcast, etc...

When you're looking at the results see how much traffic each search gets, it's difficulty to rank, and the average domain rating for each SERP.

Any questions, drop them below regarding SEO/Content. :)

How many searches is "big" enough?

Completely depends on what you're building, and who for.

If you're building a completely new startup then no one will really be searching for it, as no one will know it exists. E.g iPhone

If you're building for a mass-market where you need many users to sign up, then you're going to want to see 1000's - 100,000's of traffic per search

a more niche orientated product will only need 100's to 1000's traffic per search

      Hope this helps :)

      What are you working on?

It's an interesting tool, and I think there's something useful here, but I wouldn't call it idea validation. This can help you see how much competition there is in a space, but that's not enough to know whether the idea is any good.

Case in point: If every idea with 0 competition is good, then I've got an amazing one right here: "a machine for ruining the elastic on your socks"

I don't say this to take anything away from the idea behind Spread. I'm very interested in checking the app out when you launch. I just wanted to provide that other perspective for people who may try this validation approach.

I actually think Spread is the kind of product that needs more technical validation than market validation. In my mind, the real risks would be things like:

    • The transcription isn't very accurate, so I still have to do a lot of manual typing.
    • My videos are actually boring to listen to without a visual component, and they wouldn't make a good podcast without a lot of editing.

If the results are good, I don't think you'll have a hard time finding a market for your product. I look forward to trying Spread out when it launches.

I may not have explained correctly, but the validation process isn't to find competitors, it's to look at how much traffic per search of these phrases.

I will edit it now to make sense, I wrote this post hella late and looking back now I can see it isn't clear.

Thank you for your kind comments about Spread, I too look forward to it being up and running!! I understand there will be a lot of manual editing at first, but eventually, AI will be implemented to further automate the whole process... just wait. ;)

Technical validation is what's scaring me the most tbh. I am working closely with my freelance developer daily to see what we can improve. As Spread becomes revenue-generating 100% of it will be put back into Spread to improve it from a technical standpoint.

      Every penny.

If you like what you see then feel free to sign up, as the BETA may be changed to completely private and invite-only.

Ok, thanks. This idea makes more sense now.
