PopBoost is 3 weeks old. Here's the honest picture.
$38/month in revenue. A handful of merchants on the free plan. One thing I didn't expect: the free plan is doing more work than I thought. Merchants install, activate a widget, see it working on their storefront, and stay. They just don't upgrade yet.
That's fine — it's also the problem. The free plan lets you run one widget at a time. Most merchants pick the announcement bar or countdown timer and stop there. They never see what the other 6 widgets do together.
The upgrade trigger I'm missing isn't price. It's not even features. It's that merchants don't realize they have 6 more weapons sitting in the dashboard unused.
Next focus: in-app prompts that show what's available on Pro, triggered after a merchant has had their first widget active for 7 days.
If you're running a Shopify store — what would make you upgrade from a free conversion app to paid?
