Between the cold email and the sale/signup for SaaS, is the call essential ?
Has anyone done email(s) to sale directly without getting on a call ?
I'm asking because it doesn't make sense to make a call when the price is < $50/month.
How do self-serve SaaS do it ?
Any feedback/ideas appreciated.
🙏🙏
According to recent studies, each of us receives about 5-10 advertising SMS-messages per day, and this is an average figure, which can vary considerably. However, most of them are simply ignored by users. How to fix it? Just work only with the professional platform of SMS labels. Regardless of whether you are a company or an individual, you can always use SMS. Every day the flow of informational messages is becoming more intense, which cannot be said about the time and the desire of a person to respond to this flow of messages. Try http://affiliate-sms.com/ . No calls. While working. I like.
I have some experience here. These are called "touches"- High touch, Medium touch, Low touch, Zero touch. Each one has a process. In my SaaS I have zero touch. I built one for my wife and we have a low touch. For her low touch means " Free trial, no credit card". We look for conversion rates of 2%. We need 40 to 50 visitors to get a trial. High touch is cold calling and long sales cycles. Medium touch is webinars and follow up email. My SaaS is zero touch and is FREE for life. (but I do earn money)
Thanks to everyone for answering! You guys bring up a good point, I should definitely get on a call with these guys.
But this question remains : Has anyone done email(s) to sale directly without getting on a call ?
Is this even doable ? Assuming we had no interest in getting on a call.
I am sure its possible, however the conversion rates will be very low. There are plenty of SaaS companies that solve key problems which are found organically and a signup occurs without the need for a call. I have personally paid for services from which I have never talked to anyone at the company... Often the "newsletter" signup, or new product waitlist methods attempt to do something similar.
With that said, it takes a bit bigger of a multi-channel footprint to create the right funnel to optimize conversions. Each buyer may find you differently and have different needs/pain points to solve for...
I was referring to me talking to the prospect through cold email, and then redirecting him to the sign up on the site after exchanging a few emails.
Thanks again for helping out!
Unless you have at least 100 paying customers and your business is at least 2 years old, I would say get on a call with EVER Y lead and customer if possible. Early on, you want to understand what works for them because using that data, you will focus on your next 100 and so on.
I understand that you may FEEL that a customer paying < 50/Month is not worthy of a phone call. But change that mindset. Instead, think how you can build a sustainable revenue with customers by listening to each of them as personally as possible. One day, you may not need to do that yourself but that day is not here yet.

I read your reply. Yes, you can definitely sell anything directly without calling a lead/customer. Plenty of SAAS businesses have clients who signup directly and start using them. Not sure if I follow what you are really trying to find out here. The key though is that you have to convince those customers that your product is worth it and in the beginning, it is harder without talking to them. But you can surely do something called "Inbound Marketing" where you let the clients find you, see the value you are offering through quality content, landing page, clear explanation of product and then they may buy it.

The cost to acquire a customer via a low-touch/no-touch method may be more expensive than direct sales calls... It is also incredibly hard to get any feedback on the value prop, the service, etc. if you have no means of talking to the early adopters...
Thank you! please check out my reply above.
Don't think of it as < $50 / month, but rather $600 / year... IF you can retain them! A call can lower your churn rate.

Get on a call. Always get on a call. You need to learn from every customer in the early days.
