A few months ago, I started building my first SaaS product: Flow Era — an AI conversion layer designed to help creators understand why visitors hesitate and recover lost sales conversations.
I built everything myself:
Recently, something exciting happened:
🚀 35,000+ people saw my content
🚀 1,500+ people visited my website
🚀 People are engaging, clicking, and asking questions
And yet…
No paid customers.
Even with a free trial.
And this is probably the hardest part of building SaaS that nobody talks about enough:
Getting attention is not the same as getting adoption.
I’m realizing that the hardest problems are not always technical:
The emotional rollercoaster is real.
One day you feel like you’re onto something because thousands of people are watching.
The next day you wonder if you built something nobody actually needs.
So I’d love to ask other founders:
What was the biggest mindset shift or breakthrough that helped you go from traffic/interest to your first paying customers?
What did you change that finally moved the needle?
Would really appreciate hearing your experiences 🙏
Your 35K-to-zero gap suggests a positioning problem, not an audience problem. When traffic converts at 0%, it usually means viewers see your product as a nice-to-have solution to a problem they're not actively trying to solve right now. The "Am I solving a must-have?" question is the key - but the answer lives in what your 1.5K visitors are not saying, not in what they are. If you're not hearing urgent requests for features or desperate "when can I use this?" signals, you might be selling a feature that solves a symptom rather than the underlying pain. What do your free trial users do first - explore the full feature set, or try one specific thing then leave?
I'm curious what you've learned from the conversations with those 1,500 visitors rather than the traffic itself.
Was there a recurring reason people chose not to become customers, or are you still trying to identify that pattern?
