SaaS for getting an overview of all (company-wide) projects?
Hi all! Me and my team was facing this problem in the last months for multiple times: We were not able to tell if another team in our company built/is about to build a solution for a specific request that we got.
We had no overview about all projects of our company. Some teams were using Trello, some were using Taiga, some didn't use a project management tool at all.
Does anybody has/had this problem too? Are you aware of a solution, maybe some SaaS product? I was think if this could be an idea for a product. :)

This is a great idea - though probably difficult to implement an affective solution... Usually, I see this type of tribal knowledge in a Wiki like Confluence or Sharepoint - which everyone seems to forget about and is quickly outdated.

This is exactly how it is done at my company: Yet another tool for organization which most teams ignore. The problem is: Some people in a leading position need this information and they have to be up to date. Some kind of automation might be worth an idea. What do you think?
Something that automates a directory of planned, in flight, active, and retired systems would be interesting. From a project team perspective that can help with systems discovery and potentially help a bit with the status piece. For IT directors, it can give them better insight and control over current systems. For business units, they can see what current systems are potentially available to use for their needs (they'll probably still bring in a bespoke system regardless that will live off the grid, heh).
Taiga/Trello/Jira etc are more about the "how" than the "what". What you actually need is something like a company-wide news feed or summary of ongoing projects that you can quickly skim over, or is sent to your inbox on a daily or weekly basis. However that seems too small a feature to build a product around.
Mhmm, maybe you're right. I thought that it might be useful if an archive would also be a feature.
You're so right here, especially when scaling maintaining overview is crucial. We think the key to doing so is weekly updates from different teams, ie; product updates! + Documentation we document everything @ https://paddle.com/ so anyone can see what everyone is doing at any given time! Happy to talk about this further :)
That's an organisational approach for this problem which is fine. Unfortunately my company doesn't do that.

There's hundreds of products competing in that space. Project (portfolio) management, sometimes called "work management", "professional services automation", etc.
Do you mean products like Scoro for example?
Scoro would be an example, yeah.
