how has got experience in building and monetizing browser extensions? I'm curious to learn a bit more and "dip my toes" into the topic more.

+1 for the follow. I'm researching this as well. A couple other examples to add to @geetfun's list would be

    • Honey
    • RetailMeNot
    • Lolli
    • Ghostery and AdBlockPlus (both owned by ad networks, monetizing the data and in AdBlockPlus's case, charging premiums for their "approved content."
    • Skrapp (LinkedIn prospecting tool)

do you know any of the makers behind these?

Recently i came across a chrome extension called Shopper.com . they are somewhat like honey and I know its maker so if you want i could connect him to you. He is also the maker of the famous "Whatruns" Chrome extention. I think he is kind of a veteran in chrome extentions

Thats a pretty cool extension. Do you know the name of the maker?

I've just made my first sale of a browser extension. 3 weeks to develop and a little hustling to sell. What do you want to know?

Me? How to scale up sales!

      Hey David,

congrats! I'm learning the basics atm. MVP is done, exploring the next steps atm. How did you find your first customer?

Search for "gmass extension" you will find milone of developer interviews and revenue numbers , don't take the revenue numbers as true revenue
as it part of the new/old content marketing technique called :
"revenue" porn that drives a lot of clicks through.

Yeah, revenue porn is a problem. I think I actually heard about gmass extension a while ago - before I even looked into how to make an extension. I'll have to search for the link again

Following this topic. Also curious about this.

Examples I can think of off the top of my head:

    • 1Password and other password managers
    • Grammarly

Of course, both of these are huge companies.

      Hello Geetfun,

yeah both are pretty big companies - nothing I aim for or am overly interested. I'm more keen on getting to know more indie makers working with/on extensions.
