Hi all, I am from India and I want to incorporate as a C Corporation with Stripe Atlas. If the business is done internationally what % of taxes should I pay in USA and India? I guess that for the revenue generated in Delaware, the C Corporation have to pay tax in Delaware. How is the taxation in India for a C Corporation setup in Delaware by an Indian Citizen?
Thank you for any inputs.
You don't pay local delaware taxes just for being registered there; just the annual report fee which is $125. You need a registered local agent that costs another $50 a year (google it for a site). C corporations are generally a bad idea since they're taxed twice (once for the corporation, then income tax when you pay yourself), but I don't know how this is affected by being from out of country. I'd read up on the Stripe requirements and how USA federal taxes work for out of country businesses.
Thank you for the response . There is also a franchise tax. Do income taxes apply if I'm from india ?
If you're just starting out on your own you probably don't need all that. A local LLC will probably be fine.
I have thought of llc, but opt to go with C Corp for the chance to issue shares to concerned,
i had the same question. I am looking into singapore and US as 2 option.
I have thought of Singapore, Ireland and Hong Kong. Choose to go with US instead as tax is the second factor
Is there any issue if u register in Singapore and sell SaaS subscription to US customer? what tilted the scale in favor of US.
In my opinion the incorporation in Singapore would only do good if you do it as a subsidiary of a US/EU company, to do operations in Asia. Singapore is good as a gateway to Asia but it is hard to be incorporated in Asia and do business in US and EU.
What made my decision to incorporate in US are firstly my hope to target US market and secondly my inability to form a tax resident Singapore company for the tax benefit.
For me, Singapore is more preferable than US, since I’m from Malaysia. What are the Stripe Atlas alternative to incorporate in Singapore, any recommendation? @shaqqs @josephjohn
I think stripe now is available in Malaysia in case that helps....
It is! Thanks for the update!! 👋🏻
Edit: No, unfortunately it is not, got reply from Stripe support.
