$3K in Revenue in 3 days from a Product Hunt Launch - PH is not dead

We've been in the AI SaaS game for over a year now, building a bunch of cool products. When we saw the boilerplate market explode, we thought, "Hey, why not an AI SaaS boilerplate?" That's how BuilderKit.ai was born.

What makes us stand out? We've got pre-built demo apps, AI modules, and a solid NextJS boilerplate all rolled into one. Plus, our apps don't have those annoying Vercel timeout issues or API problems that plague many open repos.

It took us two months to put everything together, and we finally launched on Twitter in May, week 2. The early response was pretty decent, and we got tons of helpful feedback that helped us fix minor issues.

Once we felt confident, we decided to launch on PH. Aiming for maximum traffic, we picked a Wednesday (July 3rd) against a Saturday/Sunday. We teamed up with a great hunter (Kevin William David) a week before and did some basic prep - making lists of groups, communities, and friends to reach out to on launch day.

Launch day was a hit! We landed the #2 spot with over 530 upvotes, even beating out Suno AI.

Here's what we got from the launch:

  • Over 2.5K visitors
  • Featured in the PH newsletter and a few others
  • $3K in revenue
  • 40 new customers
  • 3 leads for our custom AI SaaS solutions

This was easily our best PH launch yet. We didn't spend anything on the launch (growth consultants or paid upvotes), but we did put in a ton of effort DMing active PH users, which really paid off.

I think we got a bit lucky too – some big companies probably skipped July 3rd because of the 4th of July weekend.

BuilderKit has now hit $6K in revenue, and we're gunning for $10K this month.

We're still figuring out our next move, but we're stoked about the early response and feedback. Any thoughts on where we should take BuilderKit next? We'd love to hear from you!

Great job brother. I keep seeing this word everywhere (boilerplate). Care to explain to me what that means? Thank you!

    1. 1

Boilerplate is a codebase which has all the basic components & modules that you can plug and play to build your product fast

      1. 1

so you need to know how to code right?

        1. 1

Yes, non-devs may find it hard

  4. 2

Awesome! GG for the launch, the product is looking super great

  5. 2

Nicely done. How easy is it to customize the landing page templates? I've purchases templates before and that is the recurring issue

That's great! While we landed in #3, we didn't get many paying customers or even signups.

    1. 1

Was yours a B2B product? Most B2C products get sign ups I think, if not paying users

      1. 1

yeah, we're primarily B2B. however, we also have the B2C component attached to us. to give you an idea, we are building Wylo - a platform that lets brands, coaches, creators, etc run white-labeled online communities in their branding effectively.

    1. 1
