$3K sales + $2K sales - Total $5K sales

Some of you know me from my Micro SaaS Ideas Newsletter.

I also built a couple of SaaS products - Siteoly, Flezr and also run a closed community of 500+ Micro SaaS builders and running founder interview series too.

Recently, I started building an info product called Zero To Founder

It covers a lot of stuff for founders around building products and brings them closer to the ecosystem.

Some back story:

Back in 2021-22, I was getting a lot of questions on my Twitter DMs, from my subscribers, from our community about various things around SaaS starter kits, setting up custom domains, picking databases, newsletters, help with launches, building MVPs, landing pages and info products. I kept on answering these questions but I saw a repeat pattern with the same questions being asked again and again related to connected topics.

So, to cut short my time in replying people, I took notes while answering these questions, as well as the questions that I am still answering. As I continued to receive questions on Twitter and from my subscribers about products/founder ecosystem, I began taking notes while answering them.

To compile my responses and share them more widely, I created a Google doc and shared it with people. I received positive feedback and suggestions for improvement, so I refined the doc into a more formal Notion document by adding a lot of topics related to founder ecosystem covering more than 200 questions across multiple topics. This led to the launch of my Info product.

Domain Name - Paid $150 for .com domain

I like the name 'Zero To Founder' as it truly conveys the meaning. However, the .com domain was unavailable. So, I picked zerotofounder .co domain and proceeded with it.

After I made a few sales and posted about the sales on my Twitter, I received a ping from someone who owns the zerotofounder .com domain with a price of $800. First I declined it as I was good with .co domain. But the seller reached out to me the next day and I proposed to buy at $100. Finally, I paid $150 for the .com domain name.

Traffic sources

  • So far, I've posted about 5-6 Tweets about this in December and January.
  • Gumroad Discover generated some sales.
  • Some sales were driven by the PH launch.
  • I don't explicitly talk about this usually, except for a few comments on IH, Reddit.
  • I didn't even have this in my Twitter bio until now.

Some notes & stats

Enabling PPP

Enabling PPP: Gumroad recently released PPP functionality natively for Gumroad products. Enabled that.

  • Before PPP, my average sale value was $74.34
  • After enabling PPP, my average sale value was $63-$64 (including the sales before PPP and after PPP)

Average dollar value per visit to a Gumroad page

Average dollar value per Gumroad page visit: 3307 visits to Gumroad page ~~ making $1.51 per Gumroad page visit. (It ofcourse depends on the traffic source, but this is my average from the sources I explored.)

PH Day

PH Launch stats: I was in Top#10 for first 6-7 hours and then dropped to 13th position. If you are aware of PH ecosystem, I launched on a Friday.

Sales data

  • Total sales from PH launch/since PH launch: 40 sales.
  • Total sales since beginning: 80 sales
  • Total sales value since beginning:  $5057
  • Made $3K sales before PH launch
  • Made $2K sales from PH launch

What next?

  • Working on version 2 with additional updates.
  • I don't have any other plans as I am busy running my newsletter, community, and SaaS already.
  • May be try affiliates
  • May be try ads

Feel free to ask me anything, and I'd love to hear what you think should be done next to grow Zero To Founder

    Interesting read.

Tip: add it in your newsletter footer with a discount code for your subscribers :) works well for my info product in nocode-exits.com

      Thanks Katt for the tip.

Congrats! Any estimate on the percentage of sales that were influenced by purchasing power parity after it was turned on?

    1. 2

About 50% of the sales on PPP.

Congrats! I'd be really interested to know what you plan on doing regarding adding on affiliates? Do you know your initial ideal commission terms?
