3k+ views on Medium in 2 months 🔥 but only 183 on my blog ... looking for tips
Hey !
So about two months ago I got some extra time on my hands. I realized I am in no position to build a SAAS so why not start creating some content and see how it goes from there.
I started a blog https://haseebkamal.com. I also started cross posting on Medium. I am 7 posts in and Medium has been absolutely great. As of this writing, I have 3 email subscribers and 3454 views plus 51 followers.
But the blog has not been doing too well. I am using canonical links in my Medium posts so SEO does not get corrupted but I am getting almost no traffic on my blog. In total 183 views :(
Any ideas what to do to get more engagement for my blog? Also I was wondering if I should set up an email subscription field on the blog or is it too soon?
I am also open for ideas on what to do once I get a more substantial following. I am not looking to monetize until after a year or so but in the space I am writing I think most creators opt for selling programming courses...
Lastly, my Twitter game has been a total flop too. It's almost impossible to drive engagement there but that's a topic for another post I guess.

I think it's just about keeping it up and the views will come. Or just focus on Medium for now until you get a bigger following.
In terms of Twitter, I can highly suggest joining a "growth" group, with people with similar interests as yours. It really helps the engagement etc. You just have to find the right group, because there are loads of bad ones out there.
