3rd Time Recreating Landing Page. Thoughts?

  1. 6

    Want me to be candid?

Use a template. Don't waste your time unless you want to become a designer.

    1. 2

Ohk. Though i feel templates are restrictive.

      1. 3

They are, but it can be a good tradeoff to make, because you get two massive benefits in return: (1) you can have an amazing professional-quality design that inspires trust in your visitors, and (2) it's way faster to do, so you have more free time to work on other important parts of your business.

      I agree with @volkandkaya!

I can see you build the site from scratch @Mutamuls - the content is great. However, the design system is hurting. It will affect your site performance and other marketing measurements.

If you need a quick solution. There's many site builders can do the job.

+1 to what @felix12777 is saying! pick a website builder and go with template or building blocks. Your time would be better spend on content and customer acquisition.

  2. 3

Your design is good. Stop worrying about it. Move on to the next task.

I'll take a good enough design now vs a great design next month 100% on any of my projects.

    1. 2

Thanks a lot for the encouragement.

      1. 3

Be careful of advice (including mine).

        Everyone has different standards.

  3. 3

If design isn't your strength, find a designer.

    1. 1

Good designers are hard to find and cost a lot.

Not a fan of that approach :)

  4. 3

Maybe your time can be better spent finding & talking to users instead of re-designing?

    1. 2

I agree with you. My energy is now into finding users.

  5. 2

Use a template to prove the concept and establish credibility. Tools like Webflow offer phenomenal templates with limitless customization options. Once you generate enough revenue, invest in a site redesign. There are services like mine and others on here that can help you accomplish that and not cost you a fortune.

    Good luck!

Don't fuss about it...focus on value prop and making the product awesome. You can optimize for design when you have initial traction. It's the dessert, not the entree. :)

    1. 1

Not at all, customers expect a certain level of design and having any less can and will kill trust.

Changed my landing page with a template and some twerking.

I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who took time to view my site and commented.
All the candid views and concerns brought forward made my day, i am still reading them and see how i can work to make the site look better. I got an Email from Eric, he had made a changes to the fonts, I liked it and am implementing it.
I looked for templates at html5.net, found some for inspiration.
    This community is the best.

when you change to darkmode the navbar becomes invisible

I think your header should be larger.

I don't love your hero section either. Do you really need to convince people that they should care if their website is down? If you do I think a stat like, "The department of commerce estimates $213 Billion is lost to website downtime", something compelling like that (if you can find the stat).

I think the font you are using is too small in a bunch of places, I don't like the bottom third of the page, I don't think it looks good.

    Who are your users?

    1. 1

      Ohk. Thanks for the idea.

  11. 1

Too much bold text on there. My eyes are scrolling around looking for headlines or whats important. I think people automatically tend to look towards bold text as it stands out more. Nearly all the text on your landing page is bold which makes it look like one giant wall.

    Just my 2 cents

      Thanks. Taken note.

    1. 1

Point taken. Will check that and reduce.

The problem with the design right now: it looks amateurish. Sorry but you need (a lot of) experience to come up with a good design. As many said already: use a template.

In general, you need more space in your design. For the content, my problem is: you don't really say why you're different from the 1208309128 other services which do the same thing.

And when I click on the button "test", nothing happens. I'm on Firefox.

    1. 1

Can you try again? I have changed the form to fit firefox now.

      1. 1

        It works nicely now ;)

    2. 1

Thanks for the notice. Am trying to make it error free as possible.

I think the headline could be snappier. Like, "Monitor your website's uptime and traffic data."

Or go with something more evocative. Like, "Never let your users down. Site monitoring for uptime and traffic."

Another thought, the Menlo monospace font could be a good choice for the logo. I feel like that slab serif in the logo doesn't match the rest of the site.

    Good luck with the project!

Thank you very much. I have used "Never let your users down. Site monitoring for uptime and traffic."

    Do you need criticism?

  15. 1

I like the simple design, it's straight forward and to the point. I would focus on getting users next like others mentioned. There are a lot more rabbit holes you can throw yourself into 😉

    1. 1

Yes. Thats what am going for now.
