4 Questions for users interview by Y combinator 🎓

👂 What is the hardest thing when facing the problem?
(For instance: Dropbox – what the hardest thing you face while sharing a file?)

👂 Can you tell me about the last time you encountered that problem?
👂 Why was that hard?

👂 What have you done to solve that problem?
(When users are already trying to solve the problem, it’s a sign that is a real problem that bothers them during their day-life. In addition, that can indicate about your competitors and their solution to the problem)

👉 Don’t speak hypothetically!
👉 Don't ask Yes/No questions!
👉 Don't ask if they will use your product!
👉 Don't ask how much they will pay to solve that problem!

Would love to hear your thoughts in the comments,
Naveh 🤓

thanks for that! I like to include in the interview something like 'what is the first word that comes to your mind when you think about X', then we can ask following questions based on the answer.

That is a great question! I tried to follow YC lesson but I bet there are more great questions to ask potential users

Didn’t know about the Y combinator (thanks!) as a product designer I took some courses in UX and research, so whenever I need some inspiration for structuring better interviews I check my resources (for example IDF lessons)

I don't familiar with those courses... I would have a look tomorrow
