Quick numbers first since this is IH: MediaFast is at about $7K/mo, around 400 founders have paid, zero ads ever, 19 months and 2,200 commits in, still just me
Some of you saw my launch post here a few days ago (the shadowban story). Today I'm launching the feature that honestly should have been the headline from day one: Reddit monitoring
The story behind it: every single one of my best customers came from the same kind of thread. Someone asks "what tool do you guys use for X" in a sub where my buyers hang out, and I happen to be there early with a real answer. When I was reply number 2 or 3, I got clicks and sales. When I found the same thread a day later, reply number 40, nothing. Same product, same pitch, the only variable was time
The problem is you can't sit on reddit all day. I tried. It cost me a shadowban and most of 2025
So MediaFast now watches Reddit around the clock for threads mentioning your keywords, your competitors, or the problem you solve. The moment someone asks "what's the best tool for this", you get pinged and you're the first helpful reply instead of the tenth. It checks the rules of the sub before you answer too, because a great reply that gets removed is worth zero
It's live now: https://www.mediafa.st
What building it taught me:
- speed beats polish on reddit. an okay answer in hour one outperforms a perfect answer in hour twelve, every time
- competitor mentions are the most underrated trigger. when someone complains about a tool in your space, that thread is warmer than any keyword match
- most founders don't have a posting problem, they have a "wasn't there" problem. the threads where your buyers ask for you already exist, you just never see them in time
What I'm still figuring out: how aggressive alerts should be. right now I'd rather send you 3 great threads a day than 30 noisy ones
Question for you: when someone asks "best tool for X" in your niche and you're not there, who answers instead? if the answer is "my competitor", that's exactly the gap this closes. and if you monitor mentions some other way, tell me how, I read every reply

Great launch story. 400 paying founders is already strong validation, and a 24/7 Reddit monitor feels like a natural next step. Excited to see how this feature performs!
The reply #2 versus reply #40 data point is the real product here, not the monitoring tool itself. I've seen the identical pattern in B2B outreach for two decades: the first credible answer in a thread captures nearly all the intent, and the next thirty replies mostly talk to each other. Curious whether you've measured how much of your $7K MRR came from being first with a correct answer versus first with any answer, because that tells you whether you're selling speed or selling authority.
The insight on competitor mentions being the warmest trigger is gold.
One catch on the live page though: in the post you mentioned 24/7 monitoring should have been the headline from day one, but the landing page hero still leads with the "without getting suspended" angle. If you are sending launch traffic specifically for the monitoring feature, matching that in the main hero headline will keep people from bouncing.
Also, clarifying what happens when someone enters their domain in that hero box (e.g., "Scan my niche" vs just "Get MediaFast") removes the hesitation before they click.
Huge congrats on crossing $7k MRR solo.
honestly relevant to me right now, i just went through the exact shadowban thing you mentioned, new account, tried posting my product link and reddit's filter killed it within minutes on two subs. the "wasn't there" framing is spot on though, i've been thinking about this as a posting problem this whole time when it's really a timing and presence problem. the competitor mention insight is smart too, way warmer signal than i would've guessed. following this, curious how the alert-aggressiveness tuning goes since that seems like the actual hard part
