I'm working on my 5x2000 projects. My goal is to create 5 sources of revenue that each generate at least $2,000. Two of those 5 are up and running, but not making $2,000 yet.
The last 44 days of 2017 are dedicated to marketing.

Interesting. How do you manage to focus on all these projects? Is there any relevance among them? Though, I am working on 3 different projects at the moment, but I find it extremely hard to put equal efforts on them.
Great point! That's a challenge I'm up against as well. My projects tend to be B2C instead of B2B. So, I can get away with cross promoting them in some cases. However, it would be ideal to have all of them related in some clear way.
I don't put equal effort into them at the same time. I'll spend a week working on one, then a week on another. For now, I'm focused on two until they break the $2,000 mark. Once that happens, I'll move on to the third.
I think of them as products, not "startups". I'm not trying to grow these into $20 million dollar businesses. I'm just trying to get them all to the $2,000/month mark. Once that happens, I'll evaluate where I'm at. I might sell off 4 and focus all my energy on one if the burden is too much. It's all a big experiment :)

They are starting to show signs of life! Both sites are making about $500/per month.
Is it a good goal to strive for? I think so. I like to work on different things and get bored doing the dame thing. So, for me, it's a great thing. It also gives diversity to your efforts.
Where did I hear about this? I made it up. (I think) Earlier in the year, I made a conscious effort to make my side projects pay off for me. Having 5 products that generate $2k seemed like and achievable milestone.

It's a smart idea to work on a handful of projects and see which resonates/gets traction. Bit like how VCs see their portfolios - some will fail, some will do okay and a small number will smash it out of the park. Great point! Project diversity is key. I'm sure some will fail, but I really want one success. Having 5 possibilities at once only increases the chances.

Every product creator can benefit from creating an email list where interested prospects can sign up for early access or MVP. I'd choose Aweber or similar... They have relatively low price points for small lists like the one you'd be building. I'm sure there's many other similar options for building a list

Hey! This looks great. I almost closed out before making it all the way to a chapter's discussion on Oathbringer because it looks like there might not be any current discussion to peek at. I think (if there are comments) displaying a counter on the main view and the individual book view for each chapter might help folks like me who would like to quickly look at an existing discussion to get a feel for the platform? Those counters could open up cool book discovery options too, looking for trending or most commented books.

Just so you can get an idea of how active each area is, I will be refining it a hell of a lot more yet but that's something I didn't think of adding haha! Library books are free, so would you say the value you're offering is "convenience for parents"?
There's a lot of good research about the benefits of reading to your kids (vs. other "convenient" options like playing audiobooks etc.), that could be in your advantage to look up.
As for the content, I've heard it said that the best books for kids are "whatever the parents are willing to read", because kids get more out of a parent reading anything than reading a specific type of book themselves (or via audiobook). I think that claim is based in research too, though I'm not sure.

Dugglo wouldn't be a monetary convenience, for the reason you mentioned, as much as a time saving one.
Parents that don't have time to refill the library book stash.
In addition, receiving a story in your inbox reminds busy parents to read to there kids, and keeps it fresh.
With regards to the research out there, I plan on utilizing it to create a blog to help drive in leads.

I recently closed the beta with a few hundred users who gave AMAZING feedback on whats good and whats terrible. The last of this feedback should be implemented next week, and then I'll have Version 1 of the product up and running, and ready to sell.
Once that is done, then the focus is on getting better analytics installed so I can track user behaviour and improve the tool further.
I really think the market needs a site audit tool which isn't a) overly confusing b) way too expensive and c) is capable of auditing your entire site on a regular automated schedule.

I'm working on www.FidoHQ.com - a tool that helps contractors and freelancers get paid faster. It's based on my experiences of freelancing - wasting vast amounts of time chasing invoices, following-up with clients for money and so forth. Fido does the chasing for you - hook up your Quickbooks, Xero or Sage accounts and Fido chases up invoices (and remembers to say thank you when you get paid). For really stubborn clients, we also have the option to call clients to follow-up missed payments. We're in (free) beta right now but keen to get feedback @FidoHQ.

This is a pretty good idea, I definitely know people interested in a website like this. Some things to think about are who is viewing your site: people who want to break into the blockchain field or people who are already in the blockchain field? I'm sure there are legions of people who would want to work at a blockchain startup without much prior experience or knowledge, so those people would want to know what it takes to start. If it's directed towards people already with experience, what would they want from a site like this? Community? Job notifications? Good luck!

I'll try to segment my users into these two categories and try to cater to their content need. At the moment I'd assume it's a mix of both crowds.
Speaking of community — I'm trying to think of ways to create that community vibe without slapping a generic forum platform to my site. So far, I've managed to get people to comment on some job posts, which was very nice! Especially since commenting is not common for job boards. I'm thinking how to get more people to comment and engage with each other and with job listings. I'm a developer, so building something is not a question, it's more about "what to build" and what features to prioretise for :)

Thanks! I don't know how to prove to you that this is my own unique work other than telling you I have designed all of these myself in illustrator. Is there something more you are concerned about? Maybe that can help better answer the question.
When you purchase a logo you will received a zipped file with an Illustrator (.ai) file, a vector EPS file, PDF, and PNG. So if you don't like the colors you can change them yourself in illustrator or another design software. Once you purchase that logo no one else will be able to purchase or download it. It will be yours alone.

This has been a long-term side project where I've basically been posting articles on-and-off and optimizing for SEO, but never really putting in the effort to turn it into a business. I get a handful of book sales every month and about 10 subscribers to my 7-day email course every week.
I'm slowly but surely working on a book-related/outdoor-industry-related idea. The idea is simply (for now) a regular newsletter subscription that contains outdoor/adventure book recommendations. I have a draft landing page up (https://wildreads.carrd.co/), but it needs work, like naming, copy, design, etc. I do have a call scheduled with someone to help with some copy and naming and possibly some design. One step at a time. What I'd like to do is start with this simple newsletter to gauge interest in this niche, and if, as I suspect, there's an interest, turn it into more of a community site, eventually evolving into a medium-like site for outdoor writing. #bigplans
