Here's what I'm seeing right now:
Two days ago I posted here about my Google indexing nightmare — zero pages indexed after weeks of trying.
Here's what happened next.
The Good News (with proof)
Google started showing my pages in search results. Not a lot, but it's something.
149 impressions across all pages (up from 88 just two days ago)
0 clicks. Still zero.
Average position: 34.3
My article about "webhook integrations for forms" was at position ~9 (bottom of page 1) last I checked
The keyword "typeform alternative" appeared around position 77
Impressions are growing fast. But the click count? Stubbornly stuck at zero.
Why Nobody Is Clicking (my theory)
Look at position 34. That means most of my impressions are on page 3-4 of search results. Nobody clicks those.
Even for the one page that made it to position 9 (page 1 bottom), the meta description probably doesn't stand out against Typeform, Jotform, and Google Forms — all of whom have spent millions on branding.
What This Taught Me
Ranking exists doesn't mean ranking matters. Position 9 on page 1 is basically "participation trophy" territory. You need to be in the top 3-5 for real traffic.
Either I'm showing up for queries that don't match intent, or my title/meta description isn't compelling enough to earn the click. Both are fixable.
BetaList, Indie Hackers, directories — that's where my actual visitors come from. SEO is a compounding asset, but it compounds SLOWLY. Like, really slow.
What Changed Since Last Post
✅ BetaList featured us (wasn't expecting this for another month!)
✅ Google went from 0 indexed pages to actively crawling and showing results
✅ Impressions grew 68% in 48 hours (88 → 149)
❌ Still 0 organic clicks from search
❌ Still no paying customers yet
What I'm Doing About It
Rewriting meta descriptions — making them more click-worthy for the top-impression pages
Publishing more "how-to" blog posts — the webhook article is clearly working; time to double down on long-tail content
Waiting patiently — SEO is a game of months, not days
The hardest part? Seeing 149 people scroll past your link without clicking. It's like setting up a shop on a busy street where everyone walks past your window but nobody comes in.
Anyone else been through this phase? How many impressions did it take before you got your first organic click?
