What happened at the first Indie Hackers | Worldwide?

What happened at the first Indie Hackers | Worldwide?

20+ founders and aspiring founders from around the world came together to talk about sales, productivity, marketing, and everything that goes into making an indie business work.

For everyone that was there: what did you like? What can we improve on for next time?

For me, I liked how the group focused on one topic at a time and gave advice from multiple strong perspectives. I learned a ton and left the meeting feeling smarter.

For next time, I’d like to get the breakout room feature working in Zoom so we can experiment with smaller discussion groups.

I liked meetup a lot. Learned about many things and met many interesting people.
However, it did feel a little crowdy. I definitely would like to have around 5-6 people in the room. So, good luck with Zoom UX next time :)

I agree. It was a great experience throughout, but the last hour or so, when just 5-6 of us were talking, was definitely more informative and productive.

We could try breakout rooms again and/or maybe have a rotating panel of people with microphone rights while the rest writes via text chat and asks questions.

Thanks Dmitry, and thanks for coming. I contacted Zoom support and figured out what the issue was (you have to turn it on in a separate settings page), so we should be good to go next time with breakout rooms. See you there :)

This meeting was so valuable! I appreciated the advice I got and notes from others' situations. Breakout rooms will be even better, to focus on specific topics.

I would love to hear or see a recording as appropriate from these. I'm at work during this time and can't normally make these.

Yea it does. I didn't record the 1st one, but I've been hearing from multiple people that they would like a recorded version so I'll make one next time.
