I have build school ERP MVP. it is forth day. the only thing I hear is silence . It feels very very bad. you spend a lot of time in building something that no body wants. now , I discover is market is brutal. No body wants school ERP. If you have any suggestion or advice. Let me know.
Building applications is one thing and selling the same applications to customer is a very different thing. when you try to convince anyone . "hey, can you become first user for my application" . they think. I am going to install malware on his PC. I don't have money and support.
This is my first time selling something and it's hard. very very hard. like talking to people is hard. getting people to look at what you build is hard. I have send links to like 50 people. only 3 sign ups. even then, they did not really did anything in application. it is like their account is there .
when you try to push your product. spam filters and automation detectors will ban your account.
Do you know better ways to grab first user to get feedback ?
This is a hard but useful lesson. Building the ERP is not the same problem as getting the first school to trust it.
I don’t think the issue is “nobody wants school ERP.” The issue is probably that schools do not want to become the first risky user of an unknown system.
So I’d avoid pitching it as “please try my ERP.”
A better first ask might be much smaller:
“I’m talking to school admins to understand where they lose the most time: attendance, fees, parent communication, reports, or timetable management.”
That feels safer than asking them to install or use a new platform immediately.
For the first users, I would not start with big schools. I’d target small coaching centers, tuition centers, small private schools, or admin staff who are still using WhatsApp, Excel, and paper. They have pain, but the trust barrier is lower.
Happy to put a tighter version in writing if useful. I’d map the first buyer segment, safer outreach message, feedback path, and a simple 7-day plan to get real conversations instead of silent signups.
