#5 at my first Product Hunt launch & 1000+ new visitors
[EDIT]: I think I posted a little prematurely as the sites traffic has nearly doubled since I created the post! I've updated the image with the latest results :)
I think the second spike was contributed to being featured in Product Hunts Daily Newsletter which is awesome.
Takeaway: Launch earlier than a Thursday. I think i'll see a dip in traffic as its now the weekend where as if id posted a day earlier i may have seen a little extra traffic.

Heres the results of my first product hunt launch but it would be great to hear from you guys on how you think I've done and what I could do different?
So I released the beta version of my side project yesterday and we reach spot #5 with 212 upvotes! Heres the PH Link: https://www.producthunt.com/posts/good-annotations
What I think I did right:
- I asked a lot of friends and family to upvote
- This gave me the intial trending spot on PH
- Made it possible for others to view and gain further upvotes
- Replied to all comments and in app messages (Got some great feedback for doing so)
What I could do better:
- I launched late in the day (about 1pm GMT)
- Could have gained a few extra positions if we launched earlier
- No social presence at the moment
- Could use social to announce launches for more shares, etc.
Results:
- 600+ New Users
- 5.5% Drop Rate
- 1m 45s Session Duration

Regarding your friends and family you asked to upvote, were they familiar with PH before? Like did they all have an account before, or did they create one for the occasion?
I'm just curious as you'd think that new accounts are more likely to get flagged!
Thanks @acolle! I would guess some of my friends are familiar with PH and like me may have had accounts already. However most propbably created accounts on the fly with the federated login that PH provides (i.e. facebook or Google).
Have you had launches flag up on PH before?

It's just that I heard that some people here on IH didn't get much traction on the day they launched because they had asked friends and family to upvote, and their post got flagged.
If you will keep launching on PH for your next version updates, I initiated this if interested 😀

You have very good results, in my experience PH is overrated. Launch on it gave us nothing. Even from Beta page we got more traffic

Whats Beta page? do you have a link you could share with me?
When you say 600+ users, do you mean visitors or people who registered?
I also launched on PH and got about 300 votes with approx 30 new registered users.
Looks like the screenshot is from Google Analytics so I think visitors. Makes the title misleading.

As for sign up, I've decided not implement that for my beta. whether thats right or wrong i dont know.
Is that something i should maybe get early on?
