5 Free tools to make the best out of Twitter

Hey folks đź‘‹

Last week I wrote a thread about the 5 free tools that have helped me get some traction on Twitter.

I thought the IH community might find it useful. Especially if you're new to Twitter.

  1. TweetDeck

This is one of my favorite ones

It's how I do Twitter daily.

It helps you track 👉 lists, notifications, mentions, DMs

If you have just 30 minutes for Twitter every day, spend them on Tweetdeck, not on Twitter.

  1. Followerwonk.

If you're at less than 5k followers, you get a beautiful report of your account for free.

Helps you with audience analysis:

  • Best times to Tweet
  • Audience geography
  • Follower bio word clouds.

This one's mine.

  1. Twemex

This is a chrome plugin that lets you look at anyone's best Tweets.

You can use it to decide if you want to follow someone or not.

Or even get inspired by someone's best Tweets.

It's like getting Tweet prompts from your favorite people🤷

  1. Schedulers ⌚

Many Tweet schedulers let you schedule tweets and threads a few days in advance for free!

I know this is true for Hypefury, Typefully, even Buffer will let you 10 Tweets in advance I think.

If you don't want to pay for a scheduler, use their free plans.

Scheduling on the Twitter app is a pain, and you can't schedule a thread.

(I think that is also the best value prop of all the Tweet scheduling apps)

  1. Revue

Twitter acquired this newsletter tool and made its pro features free!

It shows an email sign-up form on your profile.

This is the only way to 'own' your audience on Twitter.

Get subs on your profile, and send them an email once a week

Build a relationship with them.

I tweeted this out in a thread last week:

Let me what you think. And what are your favorite tools?

Also, if you're building a Twitter tool yourself, I'm happy to discuss ideas.

I've extensively used almost all of them over the last year.

Cheers 🙏
