This week we met a Product Manager on a coliving in Tagazhout. We did a workshop with him to improve our app (ww.mapmelon.com).
These are the 5 learnings I got:
Improve your app until the core goal can't be more perfect, then add more features.
If the feature doesn't align with your core or add value, it will be better deleted.
Make it easier for your users and keep it simple!
If you focus on social you will care more about aesthetics, than if you focus on utility.
Even if you have the same features the app will be totally different.
Just because you got feedback from one user about something it doesn't mean all the users think the same way.
Always check the #data to match the feedback of people.
You will hear a lot of feedback and ideas, it is your job to not pay attention to all.
If not you will end up having 500 features and a messy app like actual Facebook.
As a conclusion, I would say:
Trust the data, hear the users and make decisions without losing the focus.
Do you have more tips I should know? 🤔
Thank you for sharing Sole!
I think that the recurring theme in all of these is simplicity, a concept easy to understand but hard to put in practice. btw i loved the UI of mapmelon, really clean.
Yess it is complicated to get rid of things you thought were useful but in the end they were just noise...
Thank you for the compliment :) Trying to improve it step by step!
Just few thoughts that come to mind:
Love these!
Thank you for sharing :)
Totally true the last one, the fear of thieves or shyness will make your product grow slower😅
