5 strategies for competitor research and tracking

    Any good tools for doing all this?

    For general acq. channel tracking, I use SimilarWeb. For SEO/PPC tracking, SEMRush. Facebook has their own tool for social media ad tracking. Curious to hear your favorite tools for competitor research tracking.

    Kind of assumes that competitor research is valuable and not a waste of time or worse a huge misdirection. You can completely ignore the competition if you are talking and observing your potential user base to understand their needs and pain points.

      It's a great point here about balancing customer obsession with competitor focus. I think the key is to spend a minimum viable amount of time on understanding competitors such that you can understand your wanted positioning in market. Your user base will already know and raise competitors and alternatives to you, so understanding that going into a customer convo will arm you to win.
