5 Types of Social Proof to Increase Sign-Ups

Social proof for your product or service offering can be a total game changer when it comes to increasing sign ups for your business.

From a psychological perspective, social proof is one of six key principles of persuasion and influence in marketing.

“People are more likely to buy something if others have already had a good experience.”

Social proof matters for your website, and visuals are one of the most powerful types of social proof.

When you see product reviews and customer testimonials on a website, it helps to increase trust.

So how can you implement this for your business?

1. Recommendations From Industry Experts

Word of mouth is powerful, and sharing reviews from industry experts can really solidify your brand image in the mind of the end user. Use visual testimonials from leading experts when possible.

2. Number of Users

Providing visual evidence around your user volume shows potential leads that you have a bustling community of users already. It’s important for users to see that a significant number of others have signed up before them

3. Integrations With Other Trusted Companies

Integrations show that customers can use your product with a variety of other tools. They are a strong form of social proof, as users will be able to easily identify with the logos of the other tools they’re currently using.
The more integrations and capabilities a tool has, the more credible it will appear to potential customers.

4. User Testimonials and Case Studies

This is another popular example that is used by many SaaS companies. Users will be more motivated to try a service that has already proven to be helpful for others.

This is the same for case studies. Create eye catching success stories of those who have used your product or service.

5. Review Sites

Showing evidence that you have a good rating can build trust with your audience. Use visual social proof of user reviews from other reputable sites when possible.

It also applies to measuring the growth of your brand/personal brand and using social proof for this. Simply getting more mentions, links, and even requests for interviews/podcasts counts.

This is a good question @lowk3y__. I think the best tactic you can use is to provide as much value as you can up front for potential clients. I would reach out to 3-5 clients that you would like to work with and tell them that you would like to offer them your services for free or on a trial basis.

You can then shortlist candidates for them and provide them with a pool of people for some roles. I think the key is to give them so much value up front that it makes it a no brainer for them to want to work. with you in future.

If you don't want to offer your servics for free, another tactic to use would be to pick a client you would like to work with. Go find a role that they are hiring for. Go and recruit a sample of 3-5 candidates for that role. Then, reach out to that client and tell them that you were already working with a different client to fulfill an exact same role , but they decided to halt hiring for the short term, and that you already have a list of potential credible candidates for the position they are advertising for. This way, you are coming to them with a ton of value up front and giving the impression that you already have some other clients. Try this with as many clients as you need to until you get some responses. Then it is up to you do deliver and begin to nurture the relationship.

You can then build up social proof over time and begin to leverage that to build your client base. I hope this helps.

      Hi,
i believe what you can do is :
As you are at early stage, Offering your service for free for certain period of time if possible .
then you can show on your website how your service helped them grow/achieve what they were interested in.
You can offer them free service in exchange of their social proof.
I would love to listen to other people's advice on this. :)
