50 tips for running a stress-free SaaS (podcast episode)

My co-host, Ed Freyfogle, and I enjoyed putting together this very practical two-part episode of the Bootstrapped podcast.

Here's part 1: https://bootstrapped.fm/209-50-tips-for-running-a-stress-free-saas-part-1/

And here's part 2: https://bootstrapped.fm/210-50-tips-for-running-a-stress-free-saas-part-2/

The 50 tips are based on Ed's experiences running OpenCage Geocoder, a successful bootstrapped SaaS.

The 50 tips were originally going to be presented at MicroConf. But Ed had a cycling accident a week before the conference and couldn't get there.

Enjoy listening!

Great episodes! I saw the Microconf talk by Ed's co-founder and it was a great talk as well!

My favourite tip (for Europeans) is opening a Wise USD bank account and connect that with your payment provider. Much better conversion rates and you can pay your expenses in USD instead of a double conversion (Payment provider converts USD to EUR . Your local bank converts back from EUR to USD).

One benefit I realized after listening to part 1, is that you mitigate risks as well. In case one of your bank accounts freezes, you still have the other one.

Took me probably an hour to set it up (had to update all payment methods of all the services I use etc) and gives me a quite some more margin 👍

      Thanks Michael!

Not only do I save money by using Wise to receive payouts from Stripe, it also has a much nicer UI than my conventional bank.

Ow yes! My local bank's UI is the worst!
