500+ AI tools and counting — building an automated directory as a solo founder

Hey IH!

Quick intro: I'm building StackPilot AI — a curated directory of 500+ AI tools with honest comparisons and clear verdicts. No paid placements, no affiliate fluff.

The interesting part is how it stays updated: a fully automated pipeline (n8n + Claude AI) discovers and reviews new tools daily, with zero manual intervention. The site updates itself every day.

Currently pre-revenue, launching officially on Product Hunt July 29th.

What I'm working on this week: building organic presence across Reddit, X, and here on IH before launch day. Curious how others here approached pre-launch community building — did you focus on one platform deeply or spread across several?

One thing I'd watch is that automation makes staying current easier, but trust is what keeps people coming back. As more AI directories appear, the long-term advantage probably isn't how many tools you list—it's whether people believe your comparisons consistently help them make better decisions.
