Hey folks!
I launched an eBook currently free if you're reading on 22nd June, and paid henceforth on validating startups for $50 (a big big pain point)
The idea behind the book stems from my experience as a product shop owner who continuously has to validate ideas from founders
After building 50ish products within 2 years I picked up distinctive things that massively help with validation and separate the winners from the losers
Call it a system if you'd like. "How do I measure which ideas to give energy to and which to dump (after all ideas are the 0.0001% of a startup)"
So with that question in mind, I built out an eBook to share how you can validate your ideas for $50 and used the exact systems I wrote in the book to promote the book to get the initial validation (other eBooks coming out soon)
So how did I build up the reach (however small it may be)?
I shared stories about business struggles and wins on Reddit, the title is everything. I think Ogilvy said it, "The title is 80% of the advertisement" - use FOMO, "how to become __ without doing __" patterns, numbers are great too
I shared it on very relevant and hyper-targeted Facebook groups (startup, saas groups), this brought in some good traffic
I made a post of it on my LinkedIn, the reach was alright however my biggest winner was Twitter
Majority of the downloads came from there, I asked a few big accounts for a retweet in exchange to free access to my next books too, I wrote a tweetstorm about a piece within the book, and I manually wrote tweet replies to big account tweets all day and referenced my eBook
I shared it on HN with little luck
I shared it on Growth Hackers which worked out pretty well
This all lead to 524 sign ups in 1.5 days (more now) at an 84% conversion
This will undoubtedly change when I add a payment gateway, but at this point - I've got social proof all over the place, and in 2 days I've taken the book from nothing to a social proof backed product with real testimonials
If you're interested in getting it, you can download it here

Hopefully, this helps and I'm very keen to get feedback on both the above approach as well as any ideas on how it could be done better
I grabbed a copy. Eager to jump into it this weekend!
Whoa! Mate, thank you! I'd LOVE to know what you think about it considering I've watched almost every podcast you've put and bought your book haha!
Will ping you on twitter 😀
Will certainly let you know. I can tell you put a ton of work into these 23 pages :)
6 years of building products and half a million dollars in testing ideas ;)
Sweet! Congratualtions, @veebuv!
