I am not quite sure whether I need to improve my product or pitch it to investors at this stage?

It is a simple web app that will ask a couple of Yes/No questions and recommend a perfect movie for you.
I am ready to share all of our data with whoever is willing to help.
This is pretty cool, however, it was very laggy for me. I like the design and the movies that came up were alright based on my choices.

My idea here is to monetize through users behaviour. Basically, tracking users answer through GA and then retarget them with optimized trailer campaigns. So, ideally my customers would be movie distributors who want to optimize their trailer campaigns by targeting highly segmented users.
In order to do that - I need to grow my audience. Also, this is a PWA at the moment. We would need more money to build native app and add streaming services on the result page (so you can actually see where you can watch recommended movie).

I see what your end goal is here now more clearly. I would like to see the project more fleshed out, however, I think before you can pitch to investors you would need to get results.

Looks like a fun app and it's nicely designed, but I don't see a startup in it. There's other sites that do the same and offer some advertising or some minimal fee to unlock features. It's going to be a challenge to grow the audience to the point you can bring in any significant advertising revenue that an investor might want to see.
If nothing else it's a good site to get your name out there showcasing something you built.

Speaking of investors though —
It's indeed an interesting side project, but I personally don't see the startup possibility here. But you definitely can get some traffic as a "recommend me a movie" website/app, and get some buck from context ads, affiliate links to streaming services (if that's a thing) etc.

You have what I consider to be an MVP...With that being said I would definitely start talking with investors and doing more market research to ensure the product is actually viable. You can then use this research to persuade your investors
