Just released my first side project!

https://feedbax.co.uk

Just released my first side project! I got fed of trying to build something too big and ambitious and never completing anything so thought i'd just start small and get something out there, more as motivation than a money maker.

https://feedbax.co.uk

A landing page for a website video review service, built using formspree for the contact form, basic HTML and CSS, hosted on GitHub pages. Not sure about payments, but will cross that bridge when it comes to it.

The page looks nice! I had a few immediate questions, though:

    • Feedback from who? (e.g. yourself, a collection of professionals, random potential users, etc.)

    • What are the reviewer's qualifications? (e.g. feedback from you, a 10-year veteran UX designer)

    • Reviewing to what end? (e.g. maybe ask them what their goals for the website are so you can review with some context)

Congrats on launching something! I feel your pain in regard to trying to build something too ambitious and never completing anything.

Thanks on the feedback Luke, massively helpful and getting those updates in at the moment!

You should make a video of this comment.

    Hey @tja
Nice work with the quick launch. You could probably do a few free feedback videos for clients, use them as testimonials/case studies to sign up new clients. The social proof element is currently missing.

Hi @Nakkeeran, really appreciate the feedback! You are definitely right, I didn't even think about social proof on the site so will definitely try and implement that when I have a moment!

    Congrats on shipping!

What are some of your early plans for growing the userbase (review buyers)?

Hi @ryangilbert, thanks for getting in touch! I haven't thought too much about a plan for this as of yet. I think i'll do a few freebies to build a testimonials section, then just see what happens. Just started a new job so I don't want to take on more than I can deal with at the moment with this!

    hi thomas,
just curious any reason for the period after Feedbax

Hey, I just thought it looked pretty cool! No real reason behind it :)

I must agree with @lukepeters, your website lacks credibility. If you have some sense of humor (not sure if the British still have it or if it already got relocated to Frankfurt due to Brexit-uncertainties) you could have a video critique about this first version of the website. But in all seriousness, just do a few freebies so people get a feel for what to expect.

Interesting price, if you intend to do upsales, do mention it at the bottom. No harm in some transparency.

Hey, yeh definitely could have done! Pretty obvious i rushed the whole thing! Going to take a bit more time on it now and yeh, get a few freebies sorted.

I think I need to re-think the pricing. Was going for a fixed per page pricing just to make life easier, but might think about potential other pricing plans if any customers trickle in.

Hi @TobeNicole, thanks for the feedback! To be honest i was planning on trying to out source some of the feedback but not sure how I would be able to make that sound legit on the site. I'm going to try and get some freebies done for a testimonies section and see where it goes from there. Thanks!
