Looking for quick feedback.. I operate a start-up mattress brand and we're considering a re-brand with a new name.
Imagine yourself shopping for a new mattress. You hear the following two brand names. Which are you more interested in learning more about?
- Taylor and Co.
- Comfort Option

Taylor & Co. for sure.
Look at the top mattress brands that are doing well and count how many of them have "comfort" or "mattress" in the name.
Taylor & Co. (when paired with some solid branding) sounds classy, and like you would be selling a quality product.

Taylor and Co. sounds friendly to me even though it really doesn't explain what you guys do. Backed with the right story it could work for me.
Comfort Option sounds a little too obvious to me. as mentioned by @kareman
"comfort" shouldn't be an option.
Yea, the feedback on Comfort being a requirement and obvious is great feedback.
What's so interesting in branding is that most names really don't explain what the product is. Nike, Apple, etc. Even in mattresses we're up against Casper, Purple, Sealy... none of those names mean anything.
And while we don't just want to come up with random word just because it's sticky... we do want to make sure the name we choose is.. sticky!
You‘re right a lot of brand names aren‘t very descriptive. If you can connect Taylor & Co with a good (personal) story. It may be helpful in your field with Casper and so on which all sound a bit generic. I checked out your website and instantly thought Taylor & Co would be a better choice.
Taylor & Co. sounds like people instead of a market-tested corporate machine.

Mentioned names adoes not reflect your business niche on my opinion.
How about "CompfyMat" or similar ?
It may reflect comfort as well as mattress and as an nice addition "Mat" = Mate/Pal

Interesting! I would wonder if "CompfyMat" would communicate the quality story that we're targeting? Sometimes made up, or intentionally misspelled words, while catchy, carry a budgetary mentality or focus on younger customers.
If you HAD to pick... which of the ones I listed would you prefer?
To be honest I am not satisfied with both options. But if i must pick, I would go with "Taylor and Co."

Neither, to be honest. "Taylor and Co." is never going to be interesting because it doesn't say anything other than presumably the name of the founder. And when buying a mattress, “comfort” should not be an option, it should be a mandatory requirement of all mattresses. I know, because my mattress is no longer comfortable. Is there any chance you have free shipping to Norway? :)
Haha on free shipping to Norway! I know we can ship to Canada with a small customs fee from FedEx... no idea about Norway!
Good feedback though. I could explain the Taylor name in more depth, but what I'm interested with now is first impressions, so thanks so much!
I prefer Taylor and Co. Sounds 'professional' and gives you the option to define the values of the company/brand and not necessarily be restricted to mattresses as the future of the company.
Interesting regarding growth in the future... we'll consider.

First gut reaction: I'm not loving "Comfort Option". It implies at some level that you are offering a few products with varying degrees of comfort. I'm guessing you mean that your product is the comfortable one, vs your competitors, but that's not what I'm picking up from this name...
It also feels less professional. You could maybe keep "Comfort" in the name, but I'd drop "Option".

Would Comfort Mattress, or something similar, be too broad and thus harder to stick?

Given the choices, Taylor and Co. is better than Comfort Mattress. :)
