#meta I'm going to standardize the post colors on IH instead of using inconsistent mixed colors.
Which do you prefer: the blue posts or the white ones?
(For an example of page using white posts, check the landing-page-feedback hashtag.)
EDIT: Decided to go with blue everywhere, except in a select few places that match both of the following criteria: (a) white posts look superior to blue, and (b) the posts exist in a space that's kind of its own standalone feature.
I prefer the blues. It keeps the distinctive feel of the site.
Blue ones look like 'dark mode'. White ones look like 'light mode'.
I am in favor of consistently using the blue ones and optionally add a second mode where everything is light + white.
My vote is for 'dark mode' blue!
Dark mode blue as I feel it's better on the eyes :)
Blue!
White. Better daytime visibility on mobile, and I can invert colours at night for dark mode. Readability is just better. Blue does look nice though.
blue
I find it easier to scan/read posts on a white background - the bold and link accenting in particular are much more noticeable than on the original blue background.
Not something I'm worked up about though.
I like the white ones, too 🙈
If you're sticking with the blue background, I'd say the blue ones because the white one's tend to have too strong of a contrast between the posts and the background. Not as bad when viewing a single post like this, but the column of white isn't nice. Also agree with @borisyankov on having a switch between an overall light theme and dark theme.
