Congrats! How did you find out that this article got featured?

Easy. Google Analytics showing google.apis.com as a refferal source of traffic.

    Nice!

Do you know how it got featured on Google News?

Not OP but have had some articles featured on it.

Google has their own pointers on getting featured here: https://support.google.com/news/publisher-center/answer/9607025?hl=en&ref_topic=9603441

From what I've seen, you need to be:

      • Posting relatively frequently (once per week or more)
      • have good quality content (this is a no brainer, but people need to actually be reading it, not just bouncing off the page )
      • Get early traffic to the article (reddit works well for this, or an engaged email list)

We don't post frequently so I don't think it's a very important factor. Good quality content, for sure. Early traffic, probably also true :)

Fair enough on the posting frequency - assumed that as once I had one article featured, the next ones I posted soon after also got featured. As long as you have activity on the article, frequency probably doesn't matter too much though.

      Hi Rosie,

I think there is no single reason for that. First of all, it is a longer and more in depth article. Secondly, the topic is of such nature that people are interested in it (ie. comparation article). Thirdly we made sure the preview image is original and descriptive.

And perhaps a few other variables that I don't know of :)
