6 Effective Ways to Generate New Leads

Are you an entrepreneur or marketer looking to boost your lead generation efforts? If so, you're in the right place!

Maybe things have slowed down recently, or you're launching a new product and need more prospects in your pipeline. Whatever the reason, it's vital to have multiple ways to generate leads for your business.

You'll be glad to know that there are plenty of great ways to turn visitors into subscribers and subscribers into customers.

Today, I'll show you six actionable lead generation strategies you can use to skyrocket conversions and get more value from your sales funnels. We've used these techniques to grow our email lists, social media followers, and website traffic for multiple brands.

So, if you're ready to start connecting with your target audience and grow your lead lists, keep reading!

Publish Relevant and Interesting Content

First things first, make sure you're publishing relevant and interesting content on your website.

Around 71% of shoppers say they read on-site content, such as blog posts, before placing an order. This makes sense when you consider that people tend to learn about businesses and products by reading articles.

There are a ton of different options to choose from. You could write about industry trends, share tips, and how-tos, or offer product comparisons, just to name a few choices. The most important thing is to write about what matters to your target audience and the challenges they face.

If you can connect your product or business to their goals, needs, or pain points, there's an excellent chance they will sign up so they can learn more.

I've found that keeping posts short and scannable using headers, lists, and images is a surefire way to keep readers engaged. This is especially important for smartphone users since their screen is smaller and their attention span is shorter, which is evident by the fact that 73% of people report skimming articles as opposed to reading them in their entirety.

Use Lead Magnets to Turn Readers into Subscribers

Now, let's talk about lead magnets. A lead magnet is an offer, like an ebook, checklist, or video, that visitors can get in exchange for joining your email list. You can use this handy tool to keep people in the loop and nurture them into customers.

The lead magnet you create should resonate with your readers. For example, an online pet store could offer a lead magnet to help prospective dog owners discover the best dog based on their needs and schedule.

Since this topic is more likely to matter to their audience, there's a good chance that this lead magnet will skyrocket conversions. If I were them, I would put popups for this lead magnet on popular blog posts with the 'dog' tag.

Once people join, automate a welcome email that includes the lead magnet. Welcome emails have an open rate of 82%, so you'll have a better chance of keeping your new subscribers engaged by immediately delivering on your promise.

Now, you can send regular updates, promotions, and resources to keep them interested in your brand.

Create a Lead Generation Landing Page

A dedicated landing page is key for converting visitors into leads. These are also called lead capture pages. I recommend designing a page specifically for capturing contact information from people interested in your product or service. You'll want to keep your message focused on this one goal. Otherwise, you risk overwhelming visitors.

Your page should have a catchy headline and engaging copy that explains what people stand to gain by subscribing to your email list, following you on social media, or buying a product. Include an attention-grabbing image or video to help bring your message to life. It's also a good idea to offer an incentive like a coupon, discount, or free trial to motivate people to stay in touch.

Your new leads will appreciate your helpful resources and clear calls to action. In turn, you'll gain a valuable new way to connect with your target audience.

Ask During Customer Service Encounters

One of the best ways to generate new leads is to ask folks who reach out to your customer service team if they would like to sign up for updates and discounts. If your team manages to impress the person with top-notch service, they may take them up on the offer and become a subscriber.

I've found that this works really well for consultation messages. Often, someone will send a message to our team, essentially wondering if our product is right for them. If we work with them and find out the answer is yes, we always invite them to subscribe so they can learn more -- even if they're not ready to buy right away.

The easiest way to implement this strategy is to train your customer support team so they know when to ask people if they'd like to subscribe to the company newsletter or email list.

Add a Simple Signup Form to Your Sidebar

Adding a simple signup form to your website's sidebar is another easy and effective way to start generating new leads. All you need is a simple contact form that asks for the name and email address of the potential subscriber.

You should also offer an incentive like a free guide, checklist, coupon, or video series for those who sign up. If you give them a compelling reason to share their information, they're more likely to take action. The incentive you offer will vary based on your audience and what kind of products are available on your site.

Now, you can nurture your list by asking for feedback and addressing their pain points by sending relevant content and coupons. Build a meaningful relationship, and they'll become loyal followers. Then, there's a good chance they will convert into customers!

A sidebar signup form is a simple but powerful way to start generating leads. With some time and consistency, that list can become a key part of your business growth.

Host Events on Social Media

Social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and X (formally Twitter) are ideal for hosting virtual events and generating leads for your business.

There are a ton of event options to choose from. Here are a few that worked particularly well for us:

  • Host a live Q&A session where people can ask questions about your product or service.

  • Announce a live class where people can show up once a week and learn about something you're good at. This is a great way to get signups because you get a chance to build credibility and let your expertise shine.

  • Collaborate with influencers. You can film together or ask them to promote your product, service, or event. This strategy will help boost brand awareness and grow your subscriber count.

  • Host an online giveaway. Everyone wants the chance to win an awesome prize. Create multiple entry methods, including one that involves subscribing to your newsletter and one to follow your account. You'll see a surge in new social media followers and email subscribers.

Interactive social media events are one of the best ways to start conversations with potential customers, build brand awareness, and generate new leads for your business. We typically host one event every month or two. I've found this is the right pacing because people are still interested in what we have to say but not bored due to oversaturation.

Conclusion

So there you have it: six proven ways to start generating leads for your business!

The key to making these tips for you is to pick one or two to start with. Build the habit and track your progress. If you're persistent, consistent, and patient, you should begin to see new leads come in from multiple sources.

The only thing left to do is keep them engaged so they go from being new subscribers to loyal customers!

    Publish Relevant and Interesting Content

Easier said than done. How do we know what is "relevant" and "interesting" content ?

I even made a tool decentool.com that can help me search customer behavior online for my specific market and customer. It has been useful so far to understand what my customer are interested online, here is an analysis that I got from the tool SAMPLE CUSTOMER ANALYSIS .

From the tool you could see what your potential customer are interested on google and reddit, usually from that info I will adjust my online posts according to it.

Would like to know you guys opinion about the tool, does it help you guys find the relevant and interesting content.
