6 months in: watching creative agencies burn out taught me what problem to solve

The observation that started everything:

Spent the last 6 months talking to creative agencies. The burnout rate is insane, but not for the reasons you'd expect.

It's not long hours. It's not difficult clients (though those don't help).

It's this: creativity doesn't scale the way SaaS does.

An agency juggling 8 clients needs 50+ fresh concepts per week. Every client wants "viral" content. Every deadline is urgent. And the creative team is expected to have brilliant ideas... on command.

That's not how brains work.

The breaking point:

By Thursday, even top creatives are running on fumes. They start wondering if they've already had every good idea they're capable of. Dark place to be when ideation IS your job.

Clients see the output, not the process. So they assume ideas flow effortlessly. They don't see the Thursday night existential crisis at a blank screen.

What I'm building:

Sreve Creator - AI-powered ideation tool for agencies and D2C brands.

Not replacing creatives (doesn't work, not the goal). More like a brainstorm partner that never runs dry. Handles initial concept generation, trend-based scripts, ad copy variations.

Early traction:

  • Tested with 12 agencies

  • Teams reporting 40% faster ideation cycles

  • Most importantly: they're not fried by end of the week.

Wrote more about the approach here: https://sreve.online/blog/create-viral-posts-with-ai

The insight: The market thinks this is a "content generation" problem. It's not. It's an infrastructure problem. Creative work is being forced into production-line constraints, and people are breaking.

What I'm wrestling with:

  • Pricing: per-seat vs usage-based? Agencies hate unpredictable costs

  • Positioning: "AI tool" has baggage. "Creative assistant" sounds weak

  • ICP: agencies are excited but slow buyers. D2C brands move faster but need more education

Current MRR: Pre-launch (beta access only)

Anyone else building for creative professionals? The sales cycle is brutal, but the problem is real.
