6 months since the beginning of my Space industry job board

Hello!
6 months ago I started Rocket Crew a Space industry job board, so I wanted to share with you some of my stats ( even tho it's not really impressive 😅 )
https://rocketcrew.space/

Total earning: $175
Daily visitors: ~80 ( half from organic search )
Newsletter: 160 subscribers
Twitter: 195 followers
Instagram: 270 followers

During those 6 months, I built a web scraper for 50 different companies to populate the job board, and I focused on SEO
I recommend you to check the Ahrefs youtube channel if you want to learn about SEO :)

My goal for the next 6 months is to reach $1000 MRR (which could translate to 10 paid jobs post/month)
To achieve it I intend to:

  • Cold email space companies
  • Partner with space newsletters
  • Add more blog posts to increase organic traffic

One recent little success about Rocket Crew, the post I made about it on /r/NASA reached 1.3k upvotes!

See you in 6 months!

    Hi Pierre,

Things sound like they are progressing well. Congrats to you. Before the job scraping tool to accumulate your jobs to now which shows as over 2000 on the website, did you find less jobs, say (within the hundreds) was less appealing for job seekers to want to apply?

I currently don't use web scrapping for my job board so I have to manually list jobs every week to keep the momentum going which can be very tedious.

    Thanks
    George

      Hello George!
In my case, I think it is more appealing to have a lot of jobs on the site because peoples who want to work in the Space industry currently have to look on the site of each company to find what they are looking for.
So Rocket Crew can serve as a single source for all Space related jobs.

But for some other job boards, I think it can make sense to list only the best jobs available.

In my opinion, it depends on what problem you want to solve.

        Hello again!

I agree. There is no 1 size fits all especially depending on your niche. Anyway, I'll be following your journey. If I can be of any help too, please let me know.

        Cheers
        George

    Ambitious idea!
Which actions do you think will 10x your project?

To partner with a popular Space newsletter.
The idea is to add an option to allow companies to promote their job offer in this newsletter for an additional X amount of money, which would go to newsletter creator.

And publish more blog posts to increase organic traffic
