I have an app that I'm trying to ship in the Apple and Microsoft app store.

I'm trying to predict how many installs I can expect by reading about the success of other companies.

I can't find ANY information on this online. I imagine companies just don't want to share this information.

I'm looking at other apps like appbot but they only give you the number of reviews - not the number installs.

Any advice here?

    Sensortower tool gives an approximate number of monthly installs.

      SensorTower is a good start, but obviously it is not as easy as that. There are a lot of parameters that will influence the amount of installs you can get.

      Here are a few that you should keep in mind when looking at the amount of installs other apps received:

      • Was that app feature by the platform (Apple, Google)?
      • How much do they spend on user acquisition
      • How much do they spend on other marketing activities (Influencers, PR, etc)
      • For what keywords do they rank?
      • Recommendations by platform (eg. People also downloaded...)

      Those are just a few things to consider.
