Video sales tool concept and (almost) MVP
I've been working on my second app (not yet a product). It's a browser extension for recording custom outbound sales videos and splicing them with a prerecorded pitch.
For example you might make a quick recording - "Hey Courtland, I've been listening through your interviews, they're incredible! I think you'd be interested in ACME corp..." - this short video is then automatically spliced into the rest of the pitch.

Like the idea, and definitely something that is becoming more common. I've done some sales sprints using customized Loom video to prospects and stopped doing it because of the time commitment. Tried looking for a solution that could customize video but at scale. This sounds close but like it would still be time consuming (still need to do an intro & outro)
Personally, this is my ideal setup to use video sales at scale:
Using a Spreadhseet or API with my CRM data I want to record one video and then have the following happen:
This way I don't have to specifically record for each client, instead have my CRM populate the email to be very specific to them, they see the video thumbnail with their website, click it and then the video starts with me talking while it looks like I am on their website and my video pitch starts: "I was just on your website here..." Then it proceeds into the main pitch
That's a fantastic reply, the process you've described sounds very doable too. I'll add it to my review list.
How large are your outbound lists that makes it so time consuming?
One thing I was considering was to prepare videos for the most common names; David, John, Peter, Hamid, etc. and then filling the gaps from my CRM when they come up. That way over a few months I'll have covered ~90% of the new additions to my lists. Especially if I segment them into groups with an {{ intro or 2 }} - so "Hi John, I was hoping to meet you at conference X but didn't have time" would actually be 2 clips. One from the broad names list and the second from the conference X segment.
My list is only around 1,000 (very targeted niche), however as a solo founder this is very time consuming when juggling all aspects of the business.
The common name idea is interesting, I'd have to run my list and see if there are enough recurring names to make it worth it (maybe as I grow my list and expand my market it becomes more relevant). I personally target my customers based on how they currently solve the problem my software solves, as there are 3-4 very common competitors or old school paper strategies, so offering a couple video variations of what I described above based on a Tag or Field for my contacts would be awesome

It depends on how easy you make it to do the splicing, but yes, would be happy to pay for it.
You should also have CTA in my opinion.
For the splicing I want to have a simple UI to define different "sequences" that are made up of video snippets. A simple sequence might be:

...that way I can group my leads into segments and have the right video created for them.
What do you mean by CTA? Call-To-Action?

Hey David! I think this tool is awesome. Video Sales are the future. Enjoyed the Video. I could see a lot of profitability in this product most SAAS companies use Zoom or Joinme and this IMO is way better for setting up a clean demo.
Thanks Chloe - there are a few other tools out there: VidYard, Loom and Screencastify to name a few, but they're generic recording tools rather than solely based on video.
Have you done any video sales? I'd love to hear your thoughts on what works / doesn't and what's hard / easy...
