As promised, a couple of new #free-ideas from my notebook.
(Just brain dumped, no concrete execution plans)

If anyone wants to collaborate on any of those, ping me.

  • Bet with your friends to achieve new personal fitness goals and PB's and if you make it, you get the $
  • An online shop that turns clothes from famous entrepreneurs into bags and other apparel (% of revenue gets donated for coding education etc.)
  • An app that prepares you for golf tournaments (mentally & physically)
  • A course that teaches event professionals how to use event apps and even tech in general
  • Slack Fitness Bot to keep healthy during working hours
  • A tool that validates your business idea and investability and gives ideas to improve your pitch
  • Corporate sales packages and rewards for freelancers (?)
  • Teaching people how to efficiently learn new things online
  • A web app to save your daily compliments and achievements and allows you to recall them when you're feeling down
  • Community Management as a service (the personal way)
  • A Wordpress plugin that automatically converts ugly blog layouts into Medium style posts

Love this community & I hope I can spark some inspiration here.

"Community management as service" could cover a lot of ground - events calendar, volunteer management, forums, social media integration etc - did you have something specific in mind?

I was thinking more of communities on social media, like Facebook Groups, but it could be structured in a way that the customer can choose between 1 & more services. Just thinking out loud.

I like the bet with friends to achieve personal fitness goals. I suppose that might be because I'm a designer in the betting space.

That's interesting. How did you become a product designer? I'm fascinated by great products and great design.

I was a traditional graphic designer and shifted into the digital product space. I really am self-taught in the product world, I learn by doing at work and on side hustle stuff.

Oh wow I had thought of something similar to this.

Slack Fitness Bot to keep healthy during working hours

I envisioned it to be a mac menu bar app with the Pomodoro technique and during the 5 minute break it would show you gifs of simple workouts or stretching exercise.

I had the thought that a lot of devs and start up people in general are on Slack anyway, so having a reminder to drink water, stretch, walk etc. could be valuable to those stuck to a computer all day long. But it's probably more like a nice to have, than a need to have :)

About 10 years ago, I worked for a company that had similar software installed on all company laptops. It would pop up and block the screen every hour, and show a gif of exercises. Exercises like stretching, rotating eyes, etc. I'll try to find it.

Probably Workrave, but could have been an alternative.

Mac already has a bar app called Be focused which follows pomodoro
