$74 is not a lot. It's not quit-your-job money. For us, it is cover-your-costs-and-have-some-marketing-cash money, though. And it's only been a little more than two weeks.
I'm trying to keep a journal of our progress building Orbiter, and with that let's talk about what $74 in MRR means to us.
My co-founder and I have (separately) launched dozens of side projects. None of them went anywhere. None of them attracted paying users. So, for Orbiter to attract paying users so quickly is a new experience. A validating experience. We haven't set the target yet, but we know we want to set a goal of X number of sign ups before we start using paid marketing channels. That means a lot of grinding it out on social media, blog posts, Reddit, etc.
So far it's working. But it's nice knowing we have a growing revenue stream we can dip into when it's time to find the right paid marketing channels.
It might be $74, but it's recurring revenue, and that's pretty sweet.
Big congrats on hitting $74 MRR! 🎉 It might seem small, but it’s a solid start—and proof people value what you’re building. Here’s to keeping that momentum going!
Thanks so much! It does feel like a solid start. Just gotta keep grinding to get in front of as many people as possible.
