Hello IndieHackers - I'm launching my first product today, BudgetPad.io

Did you know only 41% of Americans keep any sort of budget and only 39% of Americans have enough savings to cover a $1,000 emergency? Those are pretty scary numbers considering just consumer debt is believed to reach over $4 trillion this year in the United States.

I have spent the past two months building a simple yet flexible budget platform that gives everyone the tools they need to Budget Easier and Spend Smarter. For years, I have been tracking every single transaction in a spreadsheet but it had become clunky, convoluted and difficult to make additions to due to the number of references. But my budget was also great because I was able to customize categories, create budgets and track my side-hustles all in one spot.

I enjoy tracking each income and expense transaction because it makes me very aware of where my money is going and encourages me to spend more mindfully.

I had a vision in my mind for what sort of flexibility I wanted in a web app budget and designed BudgetPad to meet the budgeting needs of everyone!

With BudgetPad you can:

Create categories for expenses and income
Track expenses and incomes against categories
Set budgets for each category and see your progress
Visualize your spend over different timeframes
Tag transactions to identify cash flows or segment categories even further (example: create a Food category and then tag food expenses as Groceries or Eating Out, or tag my T-Shirt business income and expenses with the tag 'T-Shirts' to see the cashflow)

I am very excited, and a little nervous, to hear everyone's feedback and I ultimately hope that I can shift people's mindset to encourage living within your own means and enjoying the money that you do have!
