The way I thought about Product Hunt has always been you either have to be the #1 product or you don't get anything from it.
Well, I was wrong.
Our launch of HeyCopy was alrightish and we finished in 7th place.
At the end of Launch day, we had around 180 upvotes on PH and around 60 signups. Then the fun things started.
We got put into Product Hunt's newsletter.
This drove upvotes all the way to 290+ as well as signups to 150+.
I wish I could tell you we planned this, but we didn't.
When we were launching my only wish was that we got over 100 upvotes and around 20 signups. We beat the first KPI by almost 200% and the second one 7 fold.
What I'm wondering now is the average ratio of upvotes to signups as well as the ratio of page visits to signups.
For us, the former was 2:1 and the latter 6:1. Meaning that for every 2 upvotes and 6 page visits we got 1 signup.
So yeah, the point of this post is to share that even if you dont get product of the day, it's still very much worth your time to launch on PH. I guess shoot for the moon and even if you miss you'll end up among the stars saying applies here.
Oh, I almost forgot, here's what we launched: https://www.heycopy.io/
