The "spiky point of view" angle is really interesting. This is how you essentially turn a boring headline into an interesting one. Too bad they didn't provide any examples. I've tried to come up with a few thought exercises that I thought might be useful (feel free to correct me, etc.)

"We help you make money as a blogger" -> "99% of make-money-as-a-blogger advice sucks. We deliver that 1%"

"We help you reduce churn for your SaaS" -> "Your users don't like your SaaS. We help you find out what that is".

        A combination of intuition & having read @harrydry's MarketingExamples I guess :)

thanks for examples! Agree there is so much power in carefully crafted copy.

Kevin cites an article written by Wes Kao that has a ton of examples in it of spiky copy. You may like to take a read:

Side-project marketing is the real deal, and it doesn't have to take a ton of time. Even microsites, ebooks, email courses, and silly little games can do the trick. Here are some great examples.

Do you think you can use nocode tools these days effectively to do side-project marketing?

      1. 1

Definitely. You can build so much with no code tools like Bubble and quickly. :)

thanks, useful to see examples. I guess Twitter is effectively side project marketing. E.g. if you're a podcaster and struggling with discovery, build a big audience on twitter than convert a % to grow your listenership.

Yeah, i guess you could look at it that way!
