In the last 10 years, I've done a lot of cold mailing, where as some may think that it is an outdated strategy, I tell you, if done properly, it converts. So here Some key tips I used to bring in Fortune 500 leads
Subject line is the cold mail holy grail
The receiver will only see the subject as well as the first one or 2 lines of text if he uses mobile browsers (which most of us do). Be brief, be sweet, and catch their interest, don't dive into details.
Avoid the canned intro: I'm X with company Y
The reader will see your email address as well as your signature, no need for redundancy. Instead, follow tip 2
Talk about them, not you
Acknowledge your prospect, and tell him where you got his email. A little praise also helps if you know about what they are aiming to achieve and what efforts they are making in doing so, but make sure to be genuine.
Go straight to the point
State in a short sentence why you think they need to talk to you: I have seen that you are missing XYZ. It may seem straightforward, but nobody likes to read long cold emails.
Paint a picture of how happy they will be
If you let us help you to solve this issue, you will achieve ABC, so you won't have to lose any more opportunities.
Always include a CTA (call to action)
Make sure to be only 1 question, no more, no less! I suggest you try to get them to a meeting; NEVER aim to sell on the first cold email.
Make all of this in 100 words or less
Stay short, stay sweet. This will increase the chances of your prospect reading your mail. As an example, our most successful cold email was a one-sentence email!
Always follow up
Some people say up to 5 follow-ups. I say keep following up until they reply to you (do not be annoying by following up daily, rather find the right cadence)
Feel free to ask me if you have any questions.
