I'm always interested in business focussing on resumes and jobs searching. There was another topic today as well with a similar product. Actually, there seems to be a product focusing on resume building every week.
Why? Maybe because it is a simple project for new developers to create? Like a first to-do app?

Some feedback

• Why do you use 'Engineer' in the app title? This scares away a lot of potential users. I didn't see anything particular that was for engineers only.
• Same for the word CV. You used both resume and CV in the app title. Some parts of the world use CV, some use resume. Stick to one.
• When searching on the store for Resume Builder, I got over 100+ app results. All looking very similar. Your app was not even on the list yet. I don't know how to improve the app store search listing, but this is something you could look into.
• Which bring me to the next point: How is your app different from all the other listed apps? Not to mention Play store, websites, LinkedIn, MS Word.

For the app itself.

• I think the app is very basic, and that users try the app once, and then delete it.
• I was lost when it showed the choose template screen on startup. Why do I need to choose a template first? There is no app introduction, no onboarding. No help text. No reassuring copy that I can always change the template later. I couldn't swipe templates. There is no overview to quickly compare all templates.
• After choosing the template, the app presents a table to select what data to input. The user might be lost as this is not matching with the template. For example, where will email be shown on the template, where will the mobile number be shown?
• I like the bits of advice and examples. However, why is it on the next page? Can you do something with NLP to make real-time suggestions? I can't copy a piece of advice and edit it.
• Can not add multiple resumes tailored to different jobs
• Can not export the data. For example JSON-Resume

@blindvalet, I agree. If it works well, your users are gonna get jobs and not need your app anymore. Same as dating sites.
@meesterfox, regarding your first sentence. How so? What is the niche? There are literary 100 similar apps. Agree with your second advice.

I haven't tried out the app, but my first instinct is that building a CV is not an activity I would want to do on a mobile device. For me it is definitely a task to do on a computer (web app or desktop app). I am 46 years old, so maybe it is an old school view and I am not your target market, but that is my 2 cents.

Also, I think the nature of your application will lead to low retention. If it works well, your users are gonna get jobs and not need your app anymore. So, I think you'll have to dig deeper in the analytics to determine if they are stopping midway through the process, or if they are using the full functionality and then just dropping off naturally when they don't need it anymore.

Do you have any analytics in the iOS app? When do people stop using your app? What about a support chat to find out more information from the users? ( Sorry for the question, but I have Android )

Can I ask you what's the % of people buying on Android? I've struggled to monetise Android apps

I loved the idea and those numbers are good!

But sorry I stopped downloading apps, websites are more than enough, especially with PWAs. Very few apps need native functionalities imo.

native UI is better but it's at least 10x harder for people to download an app versus clicking a link :)

I also liked you have been in the industry, you seem like a perfect fit.
