Hi IH!
I launched my newsletter - InsanelyUsefulWebsites.com - on Hacker News this week and here are the results:
Highly recommend launching on HN π
P.s. if you haven't yet subscribed - what are you waiting for?!
I found the original HN post for those who are curious :)
nice one!
That is epic! I've had 70k in 24 hours and only got 5 or so signups to my newsletter so congrats on that epic result there.
Wow, I'd say it's even more impressive that you only had 5 sign ups from 70k visitors π . That's really unlucky.
He didn't do SHOW HN, it's a big difference.
The blog post was interesting to lots of people and not really related per say to my product and my product is niche and quite an investment that most won't need. (Some call it a SaaS Bootstrap, I prefer business application framework)
Wonderful, congrats!
congrats for the milestone Jai, never think to use HN before. thanks for the insight
I though it's well know HN frontpage brings this kinds of number.
One thing to point out is that there is huge difference between having a blog post there (where your product is somewhere on your site) or you are doing SHOW HN with your product. It's night and day.
Have got a new source to drive unlimited traffic to your sites for free
How do you plan on monetizing this project?
Via sponsorships :)
When you "launched", was this your first launch? By that I mean, was there 0 users then you went straight to HN and launched?
Reason I ask is I always wonder is it better to get small groups on board first to test things and find your bugs or make a big announcement and make the product highly visible (like you just did).
No :) I've been running the newsletter for 4 months now and already had over 2k subscribers. By launched I simply meant on HN specifically, my original launch was on PH
How did you attain 2k in those 4 months? existing audience on some other platform?
Did that help you a lot starting with a smaller launch platform then do a bigger one?
@Jaisalr this is great!
I was wondering what incentives you have implemented to make someone come back to the website?
Nice. It seems your website is useful for your subscribers. π Congrats!
We have had over 10k in 24 hours for one blog post. But it was totally unplanned.
