9 Great Questions To Ask In Your First Podcast Interview

Before reading Stop Asking Questions, I was a bit unsure on how to structure my interviews and what sort of questions to ask so that it's not just a random mesh.

In the book, the author Andrew Warner talks about structuring your interviews using the Hero's Journey method that I wrote more about here.

However, if you're looking for some help in finding out what questions to ask in your first podcast interview, here are 9 great ones:

  1. What were you doing before you started your company?
  2. What led you to start your business?
  3. How did you deal with [input their obstacle]?
  4. Did you sell a lot of [input their product] at first?
  5. How did you learn to sell?
  6. How did you finally get sales?
  7. So after that, was it all smooth sailing?
  8. Why didn't you give up on your idea?
  9. How's your business doing today?

Hope that helps! Andrew's book is a must-read for any aspiring podcasters or if you're just generally interested in improving your conversations/interviews.
