Is anyone having success with Quora answers to drive traffic to their site?

I've used Quora before, answering top questions and including a link back to my blog content or product page. I would say the traffic is often low, but slow and steady over time.

This page sends around 15 people to our site per week. So super low, but also really steady and highly qualified for our business. If you can find a few of these types of questions to answer, it can be worth it.

I’ve used Quora with some success. Got a few thousand visitors and used it as a reference when writing guest posts.

I get a stream of traffic to my website. About 150 - 200 visitors a month and that can spike if one of my answers goes viral.

It happens with every 15th answer or so.

The CTR varies and depends on how you incorporate your links. Natural I’m context links get anywhere from 1-5% CTR.

If you add a footer, it can generate a CTR of .5-2%. It depends on relevance and positioning as not all people will read to the end.

The key is to choose the right answer and then make something really in-depth.

I've used it for years as a strategy and find it brings a small amount of steady traffic to my little project management software comparison site and my main website. The main tactics are answering questions (linking to my content a little but mostly other resources) and building wikis. The wiki strategy is mainly to write or rewrite a one paragraph intro with one link to my content and then bullet points for resources from the top answers. Doesn't seem too intrusive and works well.

Stats:

• over 9k answer views in 7 days and still growing
• over 200 website visits

My personal observation is that Quora favors good performing answers, probably based on CTR - which means that a slightly 'click-baity' intro gives a lot.

Then, of course, you have to answer the question comprehensively (+ nice formatting doesn't hurt)

We (@kickofflabs) have a had good success with Quora, but it is definitely a long tail marketing strategy.

If you plan on being in business for many years, it can certainly help move the bottom line.

My most popular answer on Quora has 10 upvotes and 4.6k views.

But I haven't get enough traffic from it.
